Lee-Anne is a multidisciplinary artist  based in Cape Town, South Africa. Her work is vibrant, playful, and often surreal, blending collage, illustration, and photography into imaginative narratives. She worked for a wall art company in Spain for many years and later as a photo editor in Cape Town, roles that expanded her experience across both commercial and creative fields. When she moved back to Spain in 2014 with her family, she worked from home as a freelance illustrator and surface pattern designer. She has recently rekindled her love for collage art, where she combines her love of storytelling with a passion for unexpected imagery, creating art that invites viewers on a journey of discovery. Drawing from vintage magazines, her own photography, and hand-drawn elements, Lee-Anne’s art brings together the ordinary and the surreal with a touch of vintage. Alongside her collage practice, she exhibits locally and has had her worked published internationally in American and European literary magazines. She continues to work as a surface pattern designer and illustrator. 

“I love to create different kinds of art. The medium and subject matter changes depending on the story, my mood and what I am being inspired by. I love telling stories with collage and creating scenarios that wouldn’t ordinarily exist or make sense in the real world. It’s the perfect medium for the imagination to play with. With collage, anything is possible. I love playing with paper, scissors and glue, and creating crazy, fun, worlds with all my favourite things. And sometimes I like to create one-off pieces of art – something abstract, a landscape, bold shapes. Travel and nature fuels and excites me – and I also feel that the places I have called home have shaped and influenced me in the way I express myself myself as an artist: South Africa, Italy, Spain, Australia, Portugal. I currently live between Cape Town and Barcelona, Spain – which is the perfect backdrop for my creative play.”
